Knight of Wands
These cards are in four suits – cups, wands, pentacles, and swords – but unlike the cards of a normal deck, they are full of depth and meaning and can help to refine a tarot reading.
Each suit has its own realm of influence – creativity, practicality, emotions, and intellect – and each card within the suit speaks about various aspects of that realm.
Learning to read the symbolism of each card is a long, but fun, journey as each card has many nuances, especially in a full reading surrounded by other cards. It is this journey of discovery that makes tarot readings so rewarding.
Note that each card carries two sets of interpretations: when one card is drawn reversed or in a blocking position you should consider its more negative or challenging aspects.
This is the start of a directory of each card in the Minor Arcana and I’m using the images from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck as the index as they still seem to be the best known deck out there.
Each image will eventually lead to a page with the breakdown of that card and a gallery of all the card that I have in my collection, then these cards will eventually lead to a page breaking down that deck.
Cups
The suit of Cups has influence over emotions, relationships and desires. It’s associated with the element of Water and the astrological signs of Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
Cups signify our experiences with our emotional realm, love and affection, but can also warn that these emotions can overrule reason.
Wands
The suit of Wands has influence over creativity, forward action, and risk taking. It’s associated with the element of Fire and the astrological signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.
Wands can also indicate egotistical behaviour and impulsivity that can be balanced out by innocent energy in pursuit of goals.

Pentacles
The suit of Pentacles has influence over practicality, possessions, money and work. It is associated with the element of Earth and the astrological signs of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn.
Pentacles signify our experiences with the physical world and how we interact, but negatively they speak of concrete blockages to work and possessions.
Swords
The suit of Swords has influence over intellect, thought and reason. It is associated with the element of Air and the astrological signs of Gemini, Libra and Aquarius.
Swords signify our experiences with our mind, perceptions and logic but can also speak of being deceived by our beliefs, rather than our feelings.
